When Inspections Are Required

Inspections are required at key stages of construction. Although some projects may only require one inspection at the end of the build, some projects require multiple staged inspections. Your inspection requirements will be determined and outlined by the Safety Codes Officer and stated as part of your Plans Review when your permit is issued.

⚠️ Important:
If multiple inspections are required, do not proceed to the next stage of construction until the required inspection has been completed and approved.

Missed or Skipped Inspections

If required inspections are not completed:

  • Work may need to be exposed for inspection (at the applicant's expense)
  • Project timelines may be delayed
  • Additional inspection fees may apply
