Residents and visitors to Crossfield have a variety of facilities and parks to enjoy. Playgrounds, indoor recreational facilities and outdoor sports fields ensure all can enjoy what’s on offer, year-round.
Signs are located throughout town, mapping Crossfield’s extensive pathway system, parks and sidewalks. Following signs along the pathway in the north will lead you to the southwest end of town and the dog park, fishing ponds and Collicutt Siding Golf Club.
Banta Park
Located in the heart of town at the corner of Railway St. and Limit Ave., Banta Park is lined with mature trees and bushes, and offers two playground structures; one smaller structure for those under five years of age and another for ages five and over, as well as two sets of swings.
The newly renovated basketball and tennis courts provide hours of fun for the whole family. Lines have been added to one of the tennis courts to create a pickleball court.
Parking is available on Chisholm Ave. The Golden Key Over 50 Club is located in the park with access from Chisholm Ave.
McCaskill Park
McCaskill Park is the Town's largest outdoor recreational area located along Whitfield Ave. and McCaskill Dr.
It has two softball/fastball diamonds, one hardball diamond, one soccer field with a 400-metre running track and a BMX/skateboard park.
This park also offers playground equipment for children ages five to 12, and a set of swings.
An additional baseball diamond is located behind the Crossfield Community Centre.
Murdoch Park
Murdoch Park is located at the south end of Murdoch St. and includes soccer fields designed for smaller children and playground equipment for ages five and up, along with two sets of swings.
Walker Park
Walker Park Located along Harrison St., Walker Park offers green space and play equipment for ages five to 12, along with a set of swings.
Wigle Park
Wigle Park Located on Mossip Ave., Wigle Park has play equipment for ages two to five and open green spaces for children of all ages.
Veterans’ Peace Park
Veterans’ Peace Park, located at the north end of McCaskill Dr., boasts an 11-acre park with two memorial forests. One forest was planted by the Crossfield Legion in honour of war veterans, and the second forest was planted by the Crossfield United Church in memory of loved ones who have passed. The park also includes a toboggan hill and is a great area for a nature walk.
Veterans' Peace Park is also home to Crossfield's frisbee golf course, a project initiated and completed by the Helping Hands 4-H Club in 2021.
